Cadillac CTS-V, ZL1 and SS all have 4 piston calipers. No need to change them. If you are wanting 6 piston rears then you will have to get aftermarket calipers. Really I see no need for 6 piston rears since the fronts are the work horses. Although, someone may give some reasoning to do the rears, at this time I see no need to change them unless you want the paint to match. In that case you will need to get the CTS-V gen II rear calipers but they are not an exact fit you need to swap the cross over tubes to make them work properly.

For the price they are I would just send them all off for powder coating and have them match or paint them yourself.

Just got done reading all 10 pages and I agree. I'll probably upgrade the rear lines & fluid, paint the rears to match, and call it good.

I may do what Powhusku did and upgrade the rotors the the drilled/slotted Brake Performance rotors. Otherwise I'll focus my money on the fronts.

That's what I am doing. I have only done the fronts so far. The rears will follow as time allows.

Something I over looked... Did you guys apply a light amount of brake grease on the back of your pads?

Yes I always do, with all my brake jobs.

If I happen to have problems with squeaking I would pull the pads and grease them up...

Thanks firefighter. I have no grease and they are super quiet. Did the bedding of pads. All is super! That's why I was not sure..

The stock pads did not have any type of coating and I installed the new CTSV calipers and pads dry as delivered. No squeaking so far after a few hundred miles. The first track day will be this coming Monday so I can comment on that next week. I love them so far.

For those who have done this, is the ZL1 rotor the best bang for the buck? I see they are a few pounds heavier, but have better airflow through them.

I'm sure there are several that are better, but any of them able to compete with the $450/pair pricetag?

Yeah they're one piece. I searched high and low for any drilled/slotted/dimpled/ect rotors that would fit our setup and pretty much no one makes them. Thats why I had to pair the CTS-V front rotors with SS rear rotors. I found one other company and their warranty sucked. I'm pretty certain that if you want two piece, you're stuck with Racing Brake or the AlDelco ones.

For the Brake Performance rotors, the fronts weigh 25.35 lbs, and the rears weigh 24.05 lbs.

Just a head's up, they are on sale:
Fronts are $265 with premium pads (semi-metallic)
Rears are $255 with premium pads

I just have no idea if the free "standard" or $40 "premium" pads are any good...
