What does the adaptor kit actually do? Does it act as a shim to raise the brace?? thanks

On the 2010 & some of the 2011 they did not come with the mounting holes to install the brace. TPiS makes a "kit" to be able to install the factory brace.

Hard to believe the adapter kit is more expensive than the brace itself!

Only for the 2010 and early 2011s. Anything newer is a direct bolt on

The adapter kit requires drilling so why not drill and bolt the brace right on?

I see, I wasn't aware. I just thought it wasn't pre drilled.

I just picked up the same bar on amazon. I had banked a bunch of points off my cc and I bought it. Then it didn't come with bolts, so I called amazon and they have me an additional 20% back so the thing cost be about 8 bucks lol. I'm looking to powdercoat it but I want to do 2 different colors and the place my friend knows sous it can only be done 1. Trying to figure out what color I want to do, and if I can paint over the PC with another color. I have paint to do it, but I know it can get hot and in not sure if the paint will be able to withstand the operating temperature in the summer.
