A dream and an awesome dealer that made it happen

First off, I'm new to the forums but have been watching for a while and I wanna say what a great site and community here at camaro5. Everyone here is so helpful and the networking of information on this site is second to none. I wouldn't be getting my new camaro if it wasn't for some of the members on these forums. Thank you very much!!!

I was finally able to get my order in and actually accepted by GM from the great guys at Mac Haik Chevrolet here in Houston. I'll be honest from the start, if it wasn't for mslone's post saying what a great experience he had there, I would not have gone. So I wanna say thanks to him for that post and its the reason why I'm posting as well. Hopefully someone would read my post, like I did with his, and get their camaro ordered and accepted very quickly.

The salesman I made the deal with was Robert Wolf. He was so courteous and genuine that I knew right from the start that he was going to work with me as best he could to get me into a new camaro. As a full time student, my income isn’t the greatest but that did not stop him from trying to help me out nor did he make me feel like I was wasting his time because I was just a “kid with a dream I couldn’t afford”. He told me that it wasn’t about the money but that its about people and I’m in the business to help people get the car they have always wanted. We talked about the options that I wanted which I already knew what I wanted and he made it happen. His determination to help me out in every way possible was such a nice thing to see that it made me feel like I can really trust him and made the whole process a joy rather than a hassle. But there was still one thing that was concerning me…..the allocation process and how long before I was able to get accepted.

Robert was so nice and willing, he took me to meet his inventory manager, Mark Trotter, to explain to me exactly how it all worked. He literally pulled me into his office, sat me down next to his computer and explained the whole allocation process to me and showed me everything. How many he put in 2 weeks ago, last week, how many he can put in this week and everything. He showed me right on his computer than he had allocations open for this week and that he had one spot left to put in my order. We built my car right on his computer and I watched him put my order # on the last slot of his allocations.

I have never had such a great experience at a car dealer than the one I had to order my new 2010 camaro. The biggest concern I had, outside of the allocation process, about making an order from reading on these forums is the lack of information some people are receiving from their dealers, but these guys put my concern to rest. They were so open and honest with me and willing to help me as much as they could to get my camaro here asap that I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Anyone looking to get a new camaro in the Houston area, please go stop by and see Robert and Mark. They have open allocations and can get your order in as soon as you place it. Also mention to them that you came in specifically because of camaro5 and, trust me, they will do everything they can to get you a camaro.

So I wanna say a big thank you to Robert Wolf and Mark Trotter of Mac Haik Chevrolet here in Houston, TX for making a college student’s dream come true and help me get a new 2010 camaro!!!!!!

This just happened yesterday.

He told me 8-10 weeks seems to be the norm but it could be sooner. If any unforseen things happen on GM's part, (shipping issues, etc) that it would delay it but other than that, no delays. Mark told me personally that he will have a TPW for me in about 2 weeks.

I can back flamechamp up as well...I am a college kid with about ~600 of money a month in income, and I saw mslone's post about this dealership. I saw everyone complaining and worrying why they havent made it past 1100 yet. Well I called Robert Wolf up the day I saw the post my mslone and I had my car ordered over the phone in about 10 min.

I ordered the car on the 26th and in 4 days I have gone from 1100 to 2500...this is an amazing dealership so far and cant wait to experience the rest and pic up my baby.

Mac Haik chevrolet FTW....

I don't wanna get flamed for this but I don't have other bills. School is paid for by scholarships and parents pay the rest. And my car note is gonna be ~470 a month. So right now, everything is looking good.

Check on financing. Have you got it already? Banks in General don't approve over 15% of monthly income for car payments. 20% if you got good credit. Just make sure you secure financing, because hate to have you get all excited and it come in and you aren't able to get it because can't finance. And at 470 a month you are looking at a LS or LT1? You can't be financing much more than 25K to get that payment. And if you make 600 a month, 470 going to car payment, and guessing you are under 24? Insurance will be at least $100 even if your not. So you are looking at $30.00 for gas. 0,o

Lol got it all covered. Mother is getting the loan, she is the CEO of a credit union so she is getting a 30k loan at 4.25% and my money goes to her account for the note. My dad takes care of our insurances so I'm good there. That's what I was saying, I don't wanna get flamed for being "spoiled" because I do work hard
for my scholarships in school so money isn't an issue here for me. But I have an IBM 1SS/RS coming. Couldn't get the 2SS cause I WILL be paying the note and don't want that note. Plus I live in Louisiana so leather wasn't a huge priority to me lol.
