$50K or $55K, GM will sell as many Z28's as they see fit to make. In fact, you can take it to the bank that when the Z28 is released, people will be paying well over the MSRP just to be one of the first to get into one. It happened with the GT500, the SRT8 Challenger and it will happen with the Z28 and Boss 302. It's just the nature of the game.

Unfortunately, some people won't be able to buy into the game. I'm sure there are a lot of good poker players that would do well in the WSOP that can't afford/aren't willing to pay what it takes to get into that game.

It seem like it's priced right.

The only thing that will screw it up is THE DEALERS!

$15k over loaded SS ($38k+) is not TOO bad for SC factory ride.

It's funny. When the GT500 was released with an MSRP about $15K over a loaded Mustang GT premium, all you heard was how that was way too much money and you could build a GT that would outperform it for the difference in price.

Now, while people say the same thing in terms of modding an SS to outperform a Z28 (even though nobody has a clue what the Z28 performance is going to look like) the $15K difference between the SS and the Z28 "seems like it's priced right."

Funny how a couple of years and a different manufacturer can change things.

Funny how someone can purposely bring controversy into a thread, but because he is "polite" about it, no one will do anything.

Is there even pricing announced for the convertible yet? It will be out before the Z28. Z28 pricing is speculation at this point.

I think it'll be somewhere around the price range of $50,000 - $60,000.

MSRP of its competitor, the Shelby GT500, is $48,000.

MSRP of the CTS-V, which the Z28 may share its LSA engine, is $62,000.

I'd say that's a fairly accurate margin to work with.

I'm thinking base will be 50-51. Now, optioned out I bet it will cross base Vette level.

Markup will be 7-10k at least I bet. Pure profit for the dealers.

you would take an LS3 vette over the LSA(supercharged LS3) camaro? I would take a z06 over a z28. but i wouldn't take a base vette or a grand sport over a z28..

i think it will come down to this.

the people that say i can just buy a ss and supercharge it and it will stillbe cheaper then the z28..

and the people that will pay the extra to have the badge and also the warrenty.

BUT, I think that the z28 will be more then just a blown ss. Porb have the six pots from the ctsv better susp, and the new redone int.

50k will look is the magic number for fail. seriously at that price there going to be selling a limited amount, frankly if the engine is not forged I'M not intrested, I rather s/c and forge my ls3 than buy the Z/28

I agree, but there will also be plenty of dealers that will not. Time will tell.

I think it will be around 50,000. GM will keep it below vette cost and very close to the GT500 price. I would not be surprised if it wasn't within a few hundred of the GT500. We have all seen the test shots of the Car going up against the GT500 at the GM test track. GM knows the price point the car has to come in at.
