Thank you Mark Christopher...

for taking such good care of my baby. I wanted to give Mark Christopher chevy in Ontario props for fixing my second gear grind. I called a couple weeks ago and spoke to Rodney Reed the service manager and explained the symptoms I was having, notchy shifts into second and sometimes being denied second gear all together at high RPM. He said no problem and that he was aware of the TSB to replace the second gear syncros and blocking rings under warranty. Also, the service writer John King was great to deal with. I must of called this poor guy 47 times....lol. He was very understanding of how picky I am about my car. He even called me to ask if I want them to wash my car or not...I said "Ill do it myself", he laughed and said "I figured". The car took a few days longer than expected so John gave a me rental Cadillac, put gas in my car and gave a voucher for a free Mobil 1 oil change! Both Rodney and John were awesome to deal with and spent the time to answer and address all my questions and concerns. I will be the first to admit that I am the BIGGEST PITA customer and these guys made me happy so... .

They did a great job on my car. The shifting is WAY better. The clutch even feels more responsive. Before when I would press the clutch I would get maybe 2" before I felt it engage, now its almost immediate. Also, I think they replaced the first gear blocking ring because down shifting into first is easier. Well done guys!

Matt

Good to know that there is another mod friendly dealer out there. I would have loved to have tried that before I replaced my clutch. New twin disc and same ole grinding issue.

Might be a long shot but call and talk to Rodney Reed the service manager and maybe he will still be able to take care of you under warrenty.

They didn't say anything about my mods. In fact, I think it was easier for the tech to get the tranny out with my cat back because it comes out in sections.

I wonder if this is an issue with the SS manual Cars. I sometimes have a hard time getting it into 2nd gear.. My clutch seems fine though...

Yes it's a known issue for the 10s and 11s with the LS3. I found 4 or 5 bullentins about it on the NHTSA website.
