opinion needed
My mom recently got her camaro and has been driving to work while i take my car to school. It has now come up that since it has been raining she will not drive her camaro due to acid rain and the fact that she is taking "extra care" of the car. In my opinion I think this is ridiculous and will do nothing to the car. Please post your expert knowledge on this subject so that i can get full use of my car and laugh at her.

Rain does have some effect on the car's finish. However, if you keep it waxed and wash it regularly, it's negligible. Especially here in Texas, the sun is much worse on paint than rain is. But in Massachusetts, I would be storing it in the winter to avoid the salt on the road, which is extremely hard on cars.

Dude, Acid raid is killer especially east of the Appalachians...I heard the Ph is around 4.1 with a specific gravity of 1.3 at 25 celsius.
Wet deposition will etch the clearcoat down to base metal. Listen to your mother!
