Driving Camaro to Snoqualmie/Stevens Pass
Hi all,
Firstly Happy Holidays!! This is my first winter in Seattle and Camaro V6 is the only car I have. I recently swapped out summer tires and bought Continental DWS all seasons and using them with stock 20" staggered RS config. I was wondering will the car hold its own on way to Stevens/Snoqualmie pass? I am planning to go there for skiing or to Levensworth in few days and was wondering should I get a rental or drive mine. Also, I see all these instructions about compulsory chains on I90. Is it advised to use chain on Camaro considering my 20" alloys? Regards... |

You may have to have chains if it snowing and no you can not use chains on your Camaro.

There is a link on WSDOT (somewhere) for something called Tire Socks which are approved as a chain substitute and work on cars that are not able to have chains. I looked at them and it is a neat concept. I don't remember where I saw them, but I'm sure it will turn up in a search somewhere.

Commits weekly crime
|
I had Continental DWS as well, and they did quite well. The only problem I had was icy roads, as any car/truck would have issues with. In 3" to 1' snow that was fresh or slighly packed or slushy, handled quite well and more than enough traction to get around.
