White Camaro 2 different colors?
I purchased a Camaro Back in June, and took it out recently to clean it, after going over the car several times I've noticed the the front and rear bumber... are a completly different color than the body...
Now I know you can't get metal the same color as the plastic... but the color are two completly different color whites.... now my question is... Are all white Camaro's like this? or am I the only one thats gotten screwed.. |

I see a slight difference on mine (also white).
Typical of light colored cars with "rubber" bumpers. |

yes, I have the same issue, as do many others. It's not so huge that I am upset about it though. It's not noticeable in most light if you are not paying close attention. there is a thread currently discussing it in the general discussion forum: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=136372

It's not just white, it's most colors. The body is painted at the factory, the front and rear facias and the fuel door come to the factory prepainted from another vendor. Hence, some slight or more obvious differences in the paint.

I had this same issue back in 1988 with an IROC Z that I owned. It was white and I went to the dealer and they gave me the same explanation as you see here. in this thread. The rubber components were pre painted before assembly to the car at the factory. Over time, it got worse as the white "yellowed" faster than the rubber components.
I've had dark colored cars ever since. No issues with my black LS. |

While my white one is pretty close between the plastic and metal, I did notice last night that the fuel filler door is turning a yellowish color... Anyone else noticed something like that???

Yeah I see a difference... I'll go take some photos and post them on here. I don't mind the colors being off slightly.. but you can clearly see a difference in paint. I want to buy a new front bumper... the thing is.. If I get the front bumper and its the same color as the body... Then the rear and gas cover is out of place... |

Yep. Looks just like mine. I think your bumper is definitely worse than mine. :( Your filler door looks better though!

Here are some more.. in the last one I had the tail lights out to put the halos in... The picture of the gas cover was taken inside with not much light.. so you cant see a huge photo difference.

This is the exact same issue I had with the IROC Z. Your coloring mismatch looks the same.
In my case, the dealer repainted the parts (fully covered). However, the condition returned. I always assumed that the root cause was the paint that GM used. I hope you get this worked out. |
