AIRAID V2 Install Photos

So this afternoon I got my V2 tube, and installed it immediately. Below are pictures of the new tube.

V2 Tube

New "tube inside tube" that seems a lot more sleeker.

BEFORE: Old V1 tube design.

AFTER: V2 design, view of inside.

A view from inside with sensor installed.

Of course I took it for a spin right after it was installed, and wow. Finally what I was looking for. Low range power seems a little stronger than before, and you can really tell a lot of difference in mid and high range speeds! I also feel a lot more torque and pull than I did before. I even had someone else drive it, and they also could tell a difference.

Although I was bout to give up, I waited patiently, and I am finally satisfied.
How the car feels now, is what I was expecting when I first bought this intake back in January.

David, thanks a lot for doing this. I'm sure when everyone receives their new tube, they will be satisfied also.

I couldn't agree with you more on your comments. I feel the same way on all your points with this new tube. Seems like with each drive it gets better and better and continues to meet or exceed my expectations!

Airaid V1 & V2 comparison

Here are some pictures of the 2 Airaid versions side by side. The one with the hydro graphics is V1 and the black one is V2. If you look at them from the outside, both tubes appear to be the same. The only difference is the new one doesn't have the "wedge" and the new one uses a "insert". I didn't have time to measure anything yet, but I did install the V2 and it seems work better then V1. When I first started the car up with it installed and hood open, I can hear a small whistle sound when you first start to step on the throttle to rev it up. I remember this same thing being mentioned about the Injen brand. I drove it across town and back on a 50 mile cruise and I don't notice any drone @ 2,000 rpm anymore. In fact, it has toned down my exhaust note to a very pleasant level, but still sounds pissed off when you step on it. I didn't due to much as far as hard take offs or anything yet, traffic was kind of heavy and didn't want to do anything stupid.

So far my first thoughts about the V2 tube are positive. I would like to do a dyno if and when I get time to see what the numbers are with the 2 different versions of the Airaid and the stock box if I can.

I was not a big fan of the "diversion wall" on the version 1 tube. Now, Im not an airflow expert but all I could think of was the turbulance that hump was creating as airflow increased past it. This version 2 tube with the reduced diameter insert which is most likely close to the stock tubes diameter will increase airflow speed past the MAF and not create any turbolence. Much better design Airaid! Thank You!

when you swapped the tube did you do a battery disconnect or fuse pull.

nope just shut down your car and swap. Just make sure that, the extra piece they gave you is in there. I love this new tube, my car sound deeper and more responsive.

OH my MPG went from 23 to 20MPG, does that mean it running richer? or i'm just a maniac driving the car.
