Drivers Seat Height
Has anyone figured out a way to get more head room in these cars yet?

The seats in my 2SS go pretty low. I'm 6'-4" and my head is an inch or so from hitting the headliner. And my Camaro has a sunroof. You must be taller than me.

I am 6" and did not fit on a sunroof car, my short hair was brushing up against the headliner on the seat's lowest setting! Im sure there is a way to get it modified so that you can lower it...

I remember getting in to test drive mine and bashing my head off the roof. I was thinking "well, I don't know if this is going to work..." then I figured out how to lower the seat! I'm about 6'2 and fit just right with the seat lowered all the way.

5'11 with sunroof, my hair brushes the roof on occasion but not consistently. definitely wouldn't be able to fit with a helmet but that's why I just don't wear one at the track. It's not ideal but what are you going to do?
It would also depend on forward/back position of your seat as well as the incline of your backrest. |

Seat height
I'm 6 foot 2 inches and have a 2010 Camaro SS with a sunroof and I have tried doing some drag racing with the car and I have to lay the seat all the way back in order to fit in there with a helmet. Does anybody know how to lower the seat further than the stock adjustment? I'm thinking about getting racing seats because I'm hoping that will allow the seat to Fit lower.

I'm 6'-5" hadn't even thought the helmet thing yet...go to the track and tell them your cars stock its just an exhaust so you at least get one pass before they kick you off the track for no helmet

Frankly, all of the banter is just colored bubbles unless someone has useful information. I just bought a 2015 1LE with Recaros. I will remove the driver's seat, examine for any possible way to lower the seat, including any excess washers, cutting down the seat rails, cutting down the seat frame to a more low profile position, even examining the seat cushion to see if it can be trimmed down. I will post up what I learn. I only need 1" for helmet. For those who ask why I did not test drive, I did, but it was a car with the regular seats. I then bought a car with Recaros on-line. To my surprise, there is 1/2" - 1" less clearance with Recaros. |
