Acceptable Oil Temps During Track Sessions?

I was just out at Willow Springs with my Camaro yesterday and noticed during the 2nd and 3rd session that the oil temps were around the 240-260 range. The coolant temp was really low though. My Camaro is supercharged so I don't know if this is making the oil too hot or if this is an acceptable temperature range for track sessions. I've read a few things on some other forums (Non Camaro) and there are mixed opinions. Most of what I read it seems normal, but just wanted to get some solid feedback. It was about 85-86*F on the track so it was warm, but not too hot.

any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

thanks!

I would look into a larger oil cooler for sure.

Mine was running at about the same temps and I have run about 4 road track days now and I am supercharged. From what I have heard from a few others at the track, it is pretty normal. It was 90 and humid this last weekend as well.

So Mobile 1 sucks? So to be clear a different synthetic oil will run that much cooler?

I read that Mobil 1 was rated to handle up to 300 F. I use Mobil 1 in my blown 4th Gen and see the same oil temps as you at Willow. If you back off the throttle for a lap you'll see the temps come back down pretty quickly.

Mobil 1 can handle it. If you are going to be tracking the car alot I would look into a bigger oil cooler and even tranny cooler also.
