I've got a call into them right now to see if they can hook me up with the shifter and install within the next few days.

Mark - thanks for the noise info. Some additional sound is certainly expected and acceptable to me.

George himself installed mine a month or so ago. It is precise and firm. Now, the wife liked the other one better of course, but she does not have a problem with it

Also, most of the reduction in throw seems to be on the first and third gear end with nuetral maybe being moved toward 2 and 4th a bit. This pic is in first gear

Thanks for the picture.

My wife hasn't driven mine yet so she won't know the difference.

Got word back from MGW. George has scheduled me for the install.

I always here all these great reviews for this shifter, am I the only one who has a problem with it wanting to go into the wrong gear? 1st-2nd is fine most of the time, occasionally it wants to go to 4th. biggest problem is 3rd to 4th and 5th to 6th. When shifting to 4th I have to really pull it to get it to pull down into 4th instead of 6th and the same when going into 6th from 5th.

Sounds like some springs are missing or broken. I have not missed a single shift with mine. Mine has a very very noticable amount of side to side spring pressure across the neutral zone. 3-4 should be the easiest shift you have

I have been waiting to see if anyone else had this problem, but I guess it's time to call MGW.

Call 'em they should get you sorted out. What you describe is not typical of their shifter.

I was really considering going up there for Fbody and getting mine installed. I may just purchase one and DIY it.

I used the optional soft bushings and it's almost as quiet as stock. The throws still seem very firm, so I'm not sure how much benefit vs. noise you would get out of the hard bushings. It's the quickest shifter I've ever had my hands on!

A day or two after the install, I should be driving the Tail of the Dragon. The shorter throw should come in handy. Although the stiffness of it being new may work against me. It's still the Dragon and will be fun none the less.

I'm totally jealous! Someday I'll get down there to give it a go! Have a blast!

Thanks Mike.

I've done the Dragon 4 times on a motorcycle and once in a Chevy Venture. The Camaro should be another

Not only is it fun but it's beautiful as well. Knock on wood, hopefully nothing prevents my planned detour.
