why so many hurst shifers for sale

why are so many members selling their Hurst short throw shifters - I've noticed this since I'm looking to buy a short throw and am very curious "why" are so Many are for sale.. ? Is there a reason behind selling em ?

My guess is that the Hurst is not for everyone. It's a very serious, very race ready shifter. It's loud and not plush at all. It's very mechnical. Oh, and it's very AWESOME!! I love mine.

Short throws are nice but they make some noise. I really enjoy my barton Shifter. I went with the pistol grip

also because there are so many more of these units sold than the competition. Simple fact of more product saturation , you will see more avail secondhand. And like SSOOCH said, its not for everyone. It more of a hardcore type shifter. Most wives won;t like it

i am pretty sure that they were the first one to market and people started snapping them up right away.......there were some noise issues and since then, there have been so many other choices. People are just looking to "fine tune" their shifting and not everybody is going to want the same one. There are definitely some nice shifters out there. I chose the barton!

I love my Hurst, I can't speak for or against the others, but I will say it's a big improvement over the stock shifter. As stated above, there is a mechanical click when you throw gears. I have not experienced any vibration issue. I did wrap the shaft and other areas with Dynamat.

I think its because of the way the Hurst shifter is put together. The shift leaver is connected to the upper stick attachment with only two hex screws, Witch could lead to wobbal from left to wright, A nd increasing the throw.

if you like a longer throw into gear and less positive feel into gear with a spongy feel then keep your stock setup. Hurst is just the opposite...love mine

I've seen you post this 3 or 4 times. What is your experience with hurst. I have the shifter AND wheels and love both.
