The only way to determine if this is right or not is to present it to Council of Okay or Not Okay Stuff. Oh, wait, there's no such thing. Hell, with your own vehicle, you can set it on fire and roll it down a hill, and it's not "wrong" (unless it hits my car on the way down). Seriously... why not? I would, if I needed to tow... there is no "right vs. wrong," as it's not a moral issue.

I went from Tampa FL to Indy for C5 fest. Gas mileage wasn't the greatest but made it no problem

I don't really have anything to tow.

Long as you don't do anything stupid, why not?

In my opinion, ANY car out there pulling a trailer looks retarded. I see it all the time, cars pulling trailers that trucks should be pulling. This is why there are rental trucks available. It's not safe at all, half the time the trailer is heavier than the car. I've seen everything pulling a trailer, mustangs, camaros, old camaros, priuses...nothing looks dumber than a car pulling a trailer.

Love it!!!

When I towed my equipment with the Vette, it cut my mileage from about 29 mpg to about 24 mpg.

if you plan to do it a lot, I would suggest getting an upgraded transmission cooler.. just to be safe.

I myself tow my motorcycle behind my cars, 2001 Impala, 2005 Chrysler, and if the need arises I will also tow it behind the Camaro.

But I won't do it without a upgraded transmission cooler.

I'm not to worried about it. The trailer only ways about 200/250 lbs. Both boats weigh about 65 lbs. Most of the time I will only be hauling one. I may want to haul one from Virginia to Florida someday, thinking going down the interstate with the cruise at about 60 mph should be okay. The car is rated to tow 1000lbs.

yeah my bike weighs a bit over 900 pounds, with the trailer closer to 1600, I will probably need to do some research before I opt to tow it, I might need a bit more than a trans cooler

Best looking tow vehicle I've seen! I don't know how fast I would go while towing, but I don't see anything wrong with it.

I see no issue. No sense owning two vehicles to do something if the one is perfectly capable. If I didn't have my old beater Chevy truck I would put a hitch on my 'to do' list and have a small aluminum 4x8 trailer custom made to match the car.

Do you guys think the ZL1 has sufficient transmission cooling suitable for light towing?

It's your vehicle... do as you wish. However, first I would consult the section in you Owner's Manual that addresses towing. For my SS, that would be pages 9-53 thru 9-58.
