if no Imperial Blue then I'll go with this...
2SS Black with white rally stripes Black leather interior Blue ambient lighting RS package Sunroof And maybe someone can answer his question for me. What's so good a out the Catback exhaust? I thought the SS came with a loud growl. Are peope just wanting it to be louder or is it just not loud to begin with?

I've finally decided. I started out thinking v6, then switched to SS because of past muscle cars I've owned (66 Chevelle SS396/375 hp, 65 442,68 Firebird 400 ho, and of course the 69 z/28.) I'm back to the LT2, A6, spare tire, polished wheels, dealer installed stripes and a blade spoiler. Maybe later add CAI and catback exhaust. I'm sure the wife and I will be happy with it and have a lot of fun.
The only undecided is: IOM or VR, white stripes or CG. I have to decide by tomorrow, I'm 3rd in line at my dealership. |

For me just about the same as fast ball. 1SS/RS, but cyber grey with dealer installed black ralley stripes. Plus maybe a pedders street II suspension, if I feel the car needs it (from what I've heard so far probably not but I'll see).

How will i build mine?
Just like my avatar.
I have taken some guff from friends that I am getting the LT2 vs. the SS. There is a rationalle behind it. Let be explain. As much as I would LOVE to have a 425 hp Camaro, the V6 packs 304 hp. Let me relate that to my first car, a 1969 Chevy Caprice. To say it was a boat is an understatement. It was huge, long and HEAVY. This sweet beast came from the factory with 10&1/4 to 1 compression and 300 hp from a 350cid V8. That car had plenty of get up and go for me and the power/weight ratio had to stink in comparison to my newly ordered LT2. So, as a guy in my mid-fourties, I've done a fair amount of hot-rodding around and know that the SS would only cost me more in speeding tickets and replacement tires than I want to pay. The V6 is fine with me for what I want, a hot daily-driver that gets close to 30 mpg on the highway. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the SS though. It's just not me. I did want the options though. Started with an LT2 and RS package. Added red jewel tint coat and black rally stripes. Then added the factory ground effects package. I ordered nearly every available option and intent to replace the lip spoiler with a "high wing" at the nearest opportunity. Why Chevy won't let you order it with the RS and the high wing is beyond me. I haven't seen the "midnight silver" wheels that are part of the RS package in person, but like the way they look on the "build-it" site. I intend to remove all chrome from the exterior, even replacing the RS and bowtie logos with anodized billet repops. Chrome I can't replace with black repop will be sent to a local powder-coater. I have seen the "phantom" upper and lower grill offered on ebay, in black. So that's an option for near future consideration. So, that's mine, scheduled to be delivered in late September. I am going to order
2ss with RS Package Manual transmission Exterior= IBM with CGM Rally's VR painted engine cover 95% likely a sunroof 70% chance of getting the GFX kit (60% chance of painting the GFX to match the CGM Rally's) Interior: still debating if the two tone beige will clash with my exterior set up. If I decide that it does, then black interior. performance mods will depend on how long I stay single. (full exhaust system and supercharger setup, likely an inch or so suspension drop, reasonably dark tint) considering black rims, but depends on the rim style. I like the five spoke design on the RS, just wish they were as dark as the build your Camaro portion on the chevy website portrays. |
