Then you would have to tune it...oh wait you cant.

What is the status on this anyway?
Last I heard people were talking about swapping to a 2010 pcm and all kinds of headache/other details...

Any realistic solution yet for tuning the 392?

Typical full boltons including headers c5 camis run about the same or slower traps than 392 challis. Average cammed camaro is faster by a couple mphs

I can't wait to see how this plays out! I think the challenger really gets underestimated!

my bet is a .2 difference. he has a massive torque advantage. he wins.
The SRT should easily win assuming he doesn't make any mistakes - I've seen it time and time again. Of course if you start modding, that changes things. The bench racers can say what they want but the SRT has a significant power advantage. This isn't a put down on the SS (it's a great car!), the SRT8 is simply more powerful.

But what's the big deal? You can mod your car and be faster. Then he can mod his and be faster and on and on it goes. Don't worry about it - get out to the track and have a blast! Racing is tremendous fun! And that is the whole point - having fun!

Since your racing one of the fastest 392s in the country your gonna need allot of luck Most of these cars dont run 12.2s stock and I would say it would be close, but in this case your gonna need headers! Then your going to have to drive your as$ off. But headers would even things out and give you a chance with a good launch. That vararam tune intake and adding headers might take you past his power output by a tad and give a you fighting chance.

Unless you have a lot of track experience he's going to beat you pretty easily. His car's an auto and has already run low 12s.

With good driving, you'll probably be in the mid 12s or so.

You said straight pipes? Does that mean you have headers also? If not, you don't have a chance.

I saw your dyno graph and you do have headers. That definitely makes things more interesting. You'll need some drag radials and a good launch and you could make the race interesting. But his auto will launch really well off the line. So you definitely need drag radials and good launch technique to keep the race close.

Challenger for the WIN!!!!!! Also that 12.2 is real good with stock tires...Ive yet to see one run that time on street rubber. That 6.4 is a monster motor. They pull real hard up top. He won't beat you by much if you drive/shift it perfectly. My buddy has a 2010 6.1 and we both would run heads up all day, it all came down to who got off line the best.
