Anyone know of any Mod and/or Tune friendly dealerships for warranty work in the FL panhandle? Just curious.

Gonna have to put this one on my "maybe" list. We fly out to Pennsylvania the next morning....so I will probably be scrambling to get everything done.

A message from 426 SS/RS

Greetings,

I'm finally getting my head back in the game after a few bumps in the perverbial road. I'm would still like to host the September Cruise and have a great day planned. I am sorry I have been MIA lately, but I hope you all will forgive me and come on over to beautiful Baldwin County, Alabama in September. The next post will have information about the cruise and I hope all will be able to attend.

I have also started a thread in the Southeastern forum where you can confirm your attendance or just say hi, I can't make it:

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=167457

Thanks and be safe,

-sam

ECC September Meet and Greet!!!

CRUISE ALABAMA’S LARGEST COUNTY AND SEE HISTORIC FORT MORGAN ON MOBILE BAY …

Beginning at The Derailed Diner, a transportation themed diner where you will be seated in an actual Railroad Dining Car for the best meal you will ever have west of the Florida line and east of Exit 52. The Derailed Diner is located on I-10 West Bound at the Oasis Travel Center, Exit 53 (27801 Hwy 64, Robertsdale, Al, to be exact) www.deraileddiner.com .

After feeding your body and your Camaro, we will embark on a 75 mile cruise through beautiful Baldwin County, Alabama’s largest land mass county. The route will take you through tall pine forests and the heart of the county’s fertile farm lands, down modern highways and rural county roads until you reach historic Fort Morgan that since 1834, along with Fort Gaines to its west, has been the Guardian of the Bay once protecting Mobile Bay from Admiral D.G. Farragut and the Union Navy.

The background for our photo will be one of the enormous concrete ammunition batteries that were manned during the Spanish-American War, WW I and WW II until the Fort was deactivated and turned over to the State of Alabama in 1946.

A Guided tour of the Fort has been arranged after the cruise for those wishing to get a closer look at a piece of American History. Please let me know if you are interested. There is no charge to enter the park or for the tour.

Upon your departure of the Fort, a return trip home can include a relaxing drive down Alabama's Gulf Coast and into Florida's western most tip of the panhandle or a quick run up to I-10 for the dash east.

Cruise route maps will be provided during lunch should we get separated (you know it happens sometimes…)

I am looking forward to seeing everyone there.

DATE: SEPTEMBER 10, 2011
TIME: LUNCH AT 11:30am
PLACE: THE DERAILED DINER, EXIT 53 ON I-10 WEST

Well, Preston Hood modified my 78 Silverado at my last service stop. I went to get my oil and coolant changed. I haven't driven the truck much since then, but when I finally did I heard a clunking noise. Here's the modification I got:

I guess I need to find another dealership or do fluid changes myself. Bummer

In this day in time it's best to do it yourself!!!!!!!!! That's sad.

Yeah, I agree... and I usually do work myself but it's convenient to get the fluids changed in half an hour without having to do the proper draining/disposal/etc. in my single-bay 100 degree garage. But I guess even fluid changes are too difficult these days; but it wasn't a young kid working on my truck, it was a guy who was definitely alive and kicking back in 1978.

Makes me miss Rick Hendrick City Chevrolet in Charlotte, NC (Hendrick of NASCAR fame and City Chevrolet of "Days of Thunder" fame). That was a great dealership for working on old or new Chevys.
