I've ruined my 1LE......sorta kinda
Truth be told at the end of the day I would've been better off getting an SS. I never had any real intentions of doing any road courses. I've been a 1/4 mile guy my whole life. So did I waste money buying the 1LE instead of an SS considering my intentions with this car and the way I've built this car? The way I see it the only positive is the 3:91 gears.

Probably but you are right about the 3.91 gears being a plus, either way you built a badass car!

Actually, you're wrong about the 3.91s being a plus. Because of the different gearing in the 1LE transmission, the 3.91 isn't any faster than rear gear in a standard manual SS.

Calculating it out:
First gear is a 10.38 on the SS and a 10.40 on the 1LE. Tie Second gear is a 7.14 on the SS and a 6.96 on the 1LE. Advantage SS Third gear is a 4.93 on the SS and a 5.1 on the 1LE. Advantage 1LE Fourth gear is a 3.45 on the SS and a 3.91 on the 1LE. Advantag 1LE Fifth gear is a 2.90 on the SS and a 2.89 on the 1LE. Tie Sixth gear is a 1.97 on the SS and a 1.96 on the 1LE. Tie And none of the gears are a major advantage either way. The 3.91 was added to the 1LE to keep the acceleration similar to an SS given the ratio changes.d

Well I mean you did have the zl1 pump and beefier axles but you may have already replaced those for stronger parts

I'm pretty sure that crossed the engineer's mind when deciding on the overall ratios. The 1LE will reach 106MPH@6600 in 3rd. 109 with the slightly taller SS tires.

I want them to do heads and cam on my car but I don't think I'm going to be driving it 20+ hours when I go up there in April. 1LE or not, your car and build is awesome.
