Yes, if detected a tune voids the drivetrain warranty.

Supposedly GM can detect if a tune was installed even if the stock tune is reinstalled.

oh lord, here we go. Lets just leave it at that.

TM for the L99 pulls timing during the shift to reduce torque. This is done in hte TCM

Yup, that's why I did "leave it at that".

This thread isn't about voiding your warranty. There are 12 gazzillion other threads on what may or may not void your warranty.

For an L99, a tune is probably the best bang for the buck mod. It completely changes the way the car drives. On average, most guys will see .2-.3 sec improvement at the track from just a tune. You'll also feel that extra 30+ ft lbs of torque when driving around on the street. A good tune does wonders in the torque department.
My tune showed a solid 30+ ft lbs of torque around 4500 rpms (right where you'd want it).
A tune also crisps up the shifts and just makes the car more fun to drive.

Staying stock is cool (for the guys that want a 100% warrantied car). But for most of us, that's not what owning a Camaro SS is all about. Its about modding our cars and enjoying them. The L99 also desperately needs to be tuned. GM left too much on the table with the L99's tuning.

Here is a screen shot of the table Torque Limits Per Gear in EFILive.

Does anyone have an EFILive tune for an 2011 L99 that the TM was reduced?

Bill

I would really like to see someone dyno a stock LS3 starting the pull at around 1800 to 2000 RPM. That way we have a good baseline of what the low end torqe is below 3k RPM where torqe management is in effect. Then have the same car tuned, removing torqe management, and running it on the dyno again starting at around 1800 to 2000 RPM. This would show us how much us LS3 guys gain from removing TM.

look at page 1 and 2 plenty of dyno graphs to chose from. I have my stock dyno graph and I'll post my modded one in the spring so you will just have to wait lol
