Camarofest should be in a more central location every year.

Kansas City or St Louis would be perfect because of their central location and the many racing facilities.

We have way more HEBs in Houston... just in case you hadn't been here..

Last time I went through Houston I got pulled over for driving in the HOV lane. "Hell, it was empty officer....."

I'm good with Houston

how bout out on the salt flats in Utah?

Benefits -
  • Make your own 1/4 mile, auto-X, road(salt) course!
  • Have a 1 mile top speed challenge
  • Have a max your camaro event (5 mile stretch)
  • autocross on salt = better have skill!
  • unlimited room for vendors/setup
  • have your camaro on the famous salt flats!

downsides
  • would have to locate, rent, ect all of the timing equipment for 1/4 ect
  • hotels close? or just camp on the salt?
  • insurance and event coordination with Utah?
  • not much else to do...
I really really like that idea! that sounds so much fun!!!!

Is there a way to calculate where the members are located by percentage?

My personal problem with putting the Fest right on any coast is that a big portion of the 'draw in' area is water -and not to many people live out on the water with a Camaro stowed on their yacht. I'm sure there is at least one ... but I'd rather be a bit more inclusive than that.

Likewise, I'm not exactly a fan of stuffing the fest off in a corner. Sure, it might be great for the folks in the imediate area but then everyone else will have to drive a lot farther to get there.

Not really. Even if we had data on where every member is (which we don't) and had an automated way to input the info (which we don't), it wouldn't reflect which members are likely to go to an event at an unknown location, at an unspecified time.

Yeah, but San Antonio has the largest HEB by far at just over 180,000 square feet

I actually read your post wrong. I thought you were trying to imply that we needed a second spot on the western-ish side of the country in addition to Firebird. Now I see that you just meant there's already been (or will have been by the time IV rolls around) two Fests on the eastern-ish side of the country, and there's no need for a third...

However, even if the Fest were to be held in Texas, do you still think you could get 150 Camaros to caravan there from the west coast? I'm not saying y'all couldn't, I'm just curious to know at where the break point is that the westerners will decide the trip is too far
