Diff Bushings - BMR Black Street 6+ years old and cracking

Diff Bushings - BMR Black Street 6+ years old and cracking

Upgrading my gears to 3.91 and TrueTrac and noticed my BMR bushings are all cracked. Is this normal for only 6-7 years? I did have Twin Turbo's for most of that time :-)

Are there better ones to use? maybe other than BMR?

or maybe these BMR - Poly/delrin Combo would be better?

How much hp were you pushing? Maybe there was a lot of flex there.

Hey D, you might not get any noise issues from just these because the rest of your suspension is rubber, or poly if you changed and bushings else where. I have the solid cradle bushings and THAT is where you will pick up some extra NVH, because they make the rear solid to the underbody..

I thought the Solid Cradle bushings don't transfer noise, I always heard the Diff Bushings do.

Probably both do somewhat. But in my install I did pick up some because the mounting points now are metal to metal, no cushion between them, and no flex. The rest are the stock rubber bushings but them not being solid, or delrin/poly, it's not too bad. Tolerable. Just how mine is. I did notice a difference after the install though.

Gotcha I am not looking to pick up to much noise. As I do want this to be a car I can take on a trip and not be annoyed as well.

Yes sir, I hear ya there. Like I said, it is not that bad at all. Now if I had done the diff bushings and made THAT area more solid, along with the cradle bushings it would probably be worse. That's why I only wanted to do the cradle ones cause I do cruise a lot for extended times. So leaving the rubber ones in the diff leaves me some cushion. Plus these cradle bushings I did on the reccomendation from JDP Motorsports to get rid of my wheel hop I was having, as they have cars they track, and it worked!! So I'm good to go. Thanks JDP..

I was only looking at the OFFSET REAR DIFFERENTIAL BUSHINGS because I got the AirRide and I have it lowered for normal driving.

I am going to try to talk to BMR today and maybe order some one bushings.

That's what I would do D, call BMR and let them know what's up with those bushings, who knows, they might just replace them for ya with some better ones. I have seen a lot of folks here do the offset bushings for the diff to correct the pinion angle on lowered cars because lowering they say puts the axle shafts at a weird angle along with the pinion. Good luck!!

I spoke with the Owner of Hendrix today and he seems like a honest guy, After speaking with him i am leaning towards his Offset Poly Bushings and His Solid Cradle. The Poly are not on his site as he like myself are not good with this computer stuff.

Talked to BMR and they said i was over the Street version of the bushings.
They recommended the BMR - Poly/delrin Combo ones.

Going to order them and try them out.
