having stripes ghost painted - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

anyone have any examples of ghost painting pics , I'm having my rally stripes done and my painter needs some examples cause I cant seem to find any I have a SIM and want gray or silver stripes ghost painted . Isn't it usually just a shade darker than the hood or does it fade as you go up or down the hood also

i'm pretty sure "ghost" is just straight up pearl.

Not sure if this is what you are talking about but this is an example of the pearl rally stripes on IOM. It looks sharp!

I wanted to do that too i have seen this IOM car long time ago and loved it.What color is your car going to be?

You are welcome! If I do rally stripes I'll go with pearl like this gentlemen did. It just looks sharp.

well I would go with a darker silver color stripe on top of the SIM probably . I want it to look like the stripe is under a lot of layers of clearcoat so its just comes through , I will post pics having it done next week

i thoguht about this, I think it would look really good on black, i wanted stripes but i wanted something different

Can anyone explain in non-technical terms what "ghost painting" (stripes) is. It really looks so good! Thanks.

it's basically just pearl.

If the paitning is done correctly, what you end up with are stripes that unless you are looking for them you basically would not know they are there, hence "Ghost Stripes"
