Well the car is now dropped off at the shop as of 2 hours ago. Hopefully I can get it back tomorrow and the rain holds off so I can have some fun!

Hey Patrick, I thought for taking off the trifecta tune we could do that ourselves and upload the IPF tune?

I'm not aware of having to take it into the dealer for a update

I recall reading the IPF tune required an ECU update before the tune could be applied. Someone provided a link where you could input your VIN to see if you had the correct ECU update, but I can't find that link at the moment.

You have to go to the dealer to get the latest GM update for the ipf tune to work. Basically, trifecta acts almost like a firewall and prevents the ipf tune from having access. The GM update erases all trifecta traces and ipf is then able to have access

No idea, I'd let Patrick answer that one. I have a buddy who works at the dealership who does things like that for free for me

Yeah the MDI update is to reflash your ECU clear of anything and pretty much like it was the day you bought your car from factory. The tune blocks the IPF tune of working correct and has to be completely removed. It was $92...and it was $92 dollars I didnt plan to spend but with something this serious I pretty much have to do everything that is necessary. lol I learned that the update itself is free, its the hourly rate of the dealership that is the cost. And everywhere I asked was the same price. Hopefully that answered all questions! No problem with the thread jack, we are all here to learn!

Thanks Patrick! It just annoys me everytime I go to my dealer, before I get anything "done" it's already 100$.... -__- my car is totally worth it but like I said I just don't like my dealer that much lol

Can't wait to hear your impression of the sc
