My car doesn't get off the train until Friday....but my Clear Bra will be put on next Monday or Tuesday, I'll take pics then.

However, I can tell you the car has perfect seams at which to stop the clear bra....so you really can't see it. Spent about 20 minutes going over the layout with the shop yesterday. Entire front bumper, headlights, mirrors and the gill area for about $750....throw in my $250 worth of tint and they're liking me

i agree, most of the lines are perfect for the clear bra, esp in the front. but to do the gill area you'd have to put the "invisible line" above them and go back to the wheel well area and then down towards the ground. the line above the gills would be seen.....that is what i'd like a pic of to see how noticeable it is.

Wow, there is a new thread on this every day. I'm experiencing the same thing, and I refuse to accept that it's a complaint with all new cars. I know several people with new cars, and they are having nowhere near chipping issues we are having. I maintain my stance that this is a defect.

You can give it a try, but chances are you're pretty much screwed. Go here for details on the 3M clear bra:

Paint chips are not covered by the factory warranty so the dealer won't do anything about it except offer to repair it for a cost.

The clear bra is a piece of clear vinyl that goes on the front. It's nothing like the leather bras of the past.

I just got another quote for the clear bra. He wants $700 to do the bumper, facia, and mirrors. Another $200 to do the front of the hood. Do I need to do the hood? Thanks.

You can Google VentureShield too... See who's a distributor in your area right off their website.

I talked to the shop doing mine about the hood. We both agreed that the large expanse of space on the front fascia area before it hits hood negates any need to do the hood. Reality is, if you're going to do part of the hood, may as well do the entire hood. They've done a couple dozen Camaro's now and said they've seen good results with this.

As for price, seems a bit high....they're doing my bumper, fascia, lights and mirrors for $565, so you may want to shop around.

I also thought that was steep. I've got a call in to another place to get another quote. thanks for the information.

I don't really want to do the hood (at least for now) partly because I want to have hood spears painted on it.

There is a new post here on Camaro paint chips almost every day. I have one on the front of my SS hood with only 2300 miles. If enough Camaro owners call GM re this problem something might get done. My '06 Impala I bought new has no paint chips after 4 years and 60,000 miles. I think it's in the prep process of this car. I'll start calling- Does someone know the number for GM customer re complaints ?

OP didn't say anything about rock chips. If a rock chips your paint, your right, the dealer wouldn't do anything.

Are these from rocks kicking up or is the paint failing? This is going to be the deciding factor for warranty or on you. And putting a leather bra on your hood would be as good as taking 1500 grit sandpaper to it! Defeats the purpose. They move around and scratch the paint.
