Trouble pulling 6L80e!!

Soo 9 hours of me and my buddies trying to get the damn thing out and I'm lost. Got all 7 bolts out of the bell housing, got the stock torque converter unbolted, all the lines are off, all the wires and disconnected. Is there something ontop of the transmission that needs to be unbolted? The tranny at the bottom is pulled away far enough you can stick your hand up to the flex plate but at the top the gaps closer maybe an 1/4". Anyone pulled a 6l80e?

It takes 1 tech an hour or less to drop out....your doing something wrong.

Shifter, bellhousing bolts, torque converter from flex plate, driveshaft, cooling lines, and cross member.

I took my tranny out yesterday.
I think I counted 8 bolts and not 7.

you're missing the very top bolt. Should be 8 bolts total. Lower the back of the trans down some and you will see it.

there's 9 bolt hole total in the bell housing but the top left bolt is not used.

Zoom in on the picture.

Yup there's a bolt at the very top of the bell housing.

And just to state the obvious, If you have a 1/4 inch gap at the top of the transmission already, I would be very, very sure you have as little strain on the bolt as possible when you do try and remove it. And... replace it when it's time to bolt stuff back together.
