SS vs. Duster. - finally?
The April 28th Saturday Morning Fun Run destination is Lake Cumberland Dragway in nearby Russell Springs, KY. We will meet at Hardee's South (light #22 on US 27 Somerset, KY, 42501) beginning at 8:00am to grab some FREE breakfast for participants only. Then head out for the strip at 9:00am. Cost is $10 for unlimited passes down the track! Street legal cars ONLY and we suggest you bring a helmet. Gonna be a blast!
This was posted on my FB by the team at Somernites Cruise in Somerset, KY. One of the biggest car show/cruise in Kentucky known as a cruise capitol. I can't wait till it starts up at the drag my co-worker wants to run'em in his custom, claimed 400hp at the crank 70's Plymouth Duster against my SS. I heard he hits in the 12's, just don't know if its the low or the high 12's. If you can make it out I'm sure there will be a lot of people to go up against and at $10 for an unlimited pass sounds good. Come on out.

The Duster owner told me today that on a good day for him he ran a 12.5sec in the 1/4mile. Usually around a 12.6. Can I take him with my mods?

Yeah depending on the DA/weather you should be close to mid 12's. I'm guessing 12.5-12.7 if its during the day.

Thanks. Yeah he said 12.5 was his best. All the cars are gonna head down to the track at 9:00am. I have posted this match-up toward the end of last year but we never raced and he put it up for the winter.

if it's your first time, I would leave any esp ON and gently get on the gas....just mashing the gas down will make for a pretty smoke show and terrible 1/4 times
 good luck, I think the other guy is going to outdrive you, but as it's your first time out, it's to be expected. get out a few times and learn the car and you'll be a neck and neck race more than likely.have fun!

Lake Cumberland dragway is my home track!
 during the season I'm there almost every Saturday bracket racing my dads old 73 roadrunner. Just a warning, the track is only an eighth mile so whoever launches better and gets a better light is most likely gonna be the winner...not much room to chase down a car on an eighth mile track haha Maybe I'll be able to show up and meet another camaro5 member, and possibly bring my camaro so we can gang up on the mopars and fords! Haha
