Thumbs up ZL1 Conversion to Hot Wheels ZL1

ZL1 Conversion to Hot Wheels ZL1: is it worth doing?

I'v had my ZL1 for while now and i'm looking to do something a bit different with it. I'd rather not sell it because its probably less hassle just getting it upgraded. I'v done some bolt on's but nothing to the styling, this brings me to wanting get a good clean theme.

I want to make it look like the blue Hot Wheels version:
• I think it look pretty cool, Is it worth doing?
• Has Anyone Converted theres yet?
• What Needs to be done?

I found a cool write up and image on hardlives.com / Camaro. Its funny, the guy that wrote it is clearly hating on the Mustang in this review.

Any thoughts / help / where to start?

Color is great, not real into the "Hot Wheels" theme. Bottom line- do what you like, it's your car! Your opinion should be the only one that matters.

Here's my opinion. If you are going to do the Hot Wheels version do the SEMA edition "Spectraflame". I wouldn't just slap on emblems for the heck of it.

While it will cost a pretty penny, it would be a first among the forum. The only parts you'll have difficulty getting is the hood and the rear diffuser. Everything else is doable. Just my opinion. But then again the ZL1 is beautiful the way it is.

I think it would be kinda cool if you did the conversion, but if it was me I would get it painted to match the color and have the center stripe and flames on the rear fenders painted in as well so it lasts longer. Other than that all the emblems where they are supposed to be. Personally if I had the stock black rims I wouldn't switch to the Hot Wheels rims but if you do want to do it, I would make sure that they will even clear the ZL1 calipers. You might have to get someone to make them for you aftermarket. I'd keep the ZL1 fascia too but that's just me, mainly because the ZL1 needs all the extra air. Possibly replace the ZL1 emblem on the hood for the Hot Wheels ones? Don't forget the custom stitch Hot Wheels seats and steering wheel either. Some of the dash bezels are also different. Not sure how far into making it be converted but that's a lot to consider.

If you go for it keep us posted with updates.

I would rather have an original ZL1 stock then any hot wheels camaro. The only thing i wish they offered on the hot wheels to other models is the paint color.

the hot wheels SE minus the hot wheels badges is an awesome looking car IMO. love the color, love the flat/satin body stripe, love the blacked out front fascia with the red pinstripe. That's what i would do. I wouldn't put that little hot wheels flame on my car ever though.

Guys the OP is clearly asking for help, not so much our personal opinions, if you want to throw in you personal opinion please provide the help he's asking for in your post with it. Remember this is the OP's car not our own, and he want's to make it his own... So to help keep the thread on track this is what he's asking for:
