Im with ya there. It would be nice to have a track pack option with with a better suspension, gears, and a couple pounds lighter wouldnt be bad either. How about some 18's instead of thoose 20's.

The current car's problem is that it is overweight. Adding more power and a tighter suspension can only compensate for so much. This issue will need to be addressed in the next generation (if there is one) Camaro.

A Z28 should NEVER cost more than a Corvette. No way in hell. GM screwed this one up big-time. It "should" be something like this:

V-6= base model
V-8= Z28 (L99 and LS3)
V-8 Z06 motor= Z28 SS
V-8 ZR1 motor= limited edition C.O.P.O. edition

The Z28 would base at 31K and option up to 40K
The Z28 SS would base at 38ish
The C.O.P.O. would base at 50K

Wasn't the Z/28 technically weaker (in the HP sense)than the SS? I think it should be a track pack, wasn't that what is was before? A mod that was customized to fit a certain set of racing rules?

I think just a track pack called Z28 would be fine. Lose a couple hundred pounds, a few suspension tweaks, maybe even a factory CAI to help beat the mustang track pack even better. Maybe 4.4-4.5 to 60, for, lets say, $1500-$2000.

Oh, and some badges.

yes the Z28 has always just been a track/racer version that is the heritage of the Z28, i have no idea why so many people think it's gonna be a GT500 killer in the 1320 by putting in a big or blown engine like the LSA with 550hp(10 more then the GT500)and be the best handling track car at the same time

not saying that wouldn't be a dream come true, just have no idea why all this started, and if it is released and it's just a track pack a bunch of people are gonna raise hell and talk down on GM even though they have already given us superior products throughout their line up

I say build it for torque and 0-60 time. Screw the 1/4 mile. I want a car that's going to spank darn near everything on the road from stop light to stop light. While we're dreaming, a wheelie bar and enough torque to get the front end about a foot off the ground while shooting some flames out the exhaust would sure be nice. Oh and I don't want to spend over 32k either, fully loaded!!!

IMO the GT500 Killer should be called the ZL1
