Not to offend any vert owners but each time I read one of these negative threads about problems with the verts I am that much happier with my HT. Sorry you guys paid good money for a product with so many disappointments. :(

sorry to hear such a dramatic story
glad to hear you are not giving up top-less driving
there are verts and roadsters out there, that deliver pure fun

may i add
all those stories about faulty verts coming up in the 2nd half of 2011 made us think if we should continue to follow our dream of an L99 imb vert with a tan top or drop it
we followed every update here in c5 and in feb 2012 we decided to drop that L99 plan and ordered an bmw z4 s-drive 35i fully loaded (69000 euros instead of 48000 (camaro))
took delivery 5 weeks ago
1000 miles driven since then
pure joy and pleasure
absolutely fault free
hope all of you will enjoy the summer "top-down"

There are lots of good verts out there. Made by Ford, BMW, VW, Mazda,
Fiat, Jag, Mercedes. Everyone except GM.

That's a real shame. My neighbor bought a 2011 maroon vert with a tan top and he's never had a single problem with the car. I guess there are lemons even in my favorite car company. I drove a Solara with over 200K miles on the odometer for about 1500 miles and I was very impressed with that car...I'd buy one in a heart beat.

While I understand the frustration, why you didn't pursue buy-back is beyond me…

Why take a loss on a car that was a lemon?

glad I bought a coupe w/o sunroof. GM should given you another, maybe w/ less issues.

Thanks for the info, I will watch out for it.

Being born and raised in the Florida sunshine, I am a convertible girl at heart! Besides, my license plate says and wouldn't exactly go well with a coupe.

Lemon Law Summary for Florida

Summary: Florida Vehicles sold, transferred or leased , in the state, and used primarily for personal, family or household purposes, excluding off-road vehicles, mopeds, trucks over 10,000 lbs., the living facilities of recreation vehicles, and motorcycles.

Repair Attempts/Days Out of Service: 3 repair attempts – 30 calendar days out of service

Coverage Period: 18 months or 24,000 miles, whichever occurs first.

Unfortunately I was past the coverage period as my car had over 26,000 miles.

Just a small loss, but it was worth it to know that every time I get in my Solara I won't be wondering "what's gonna go wrong today"!
