Time to search as this has been discussed and discussed and discussed...

That's because the SS is the base V8 trim level this generation. In the first generation, the SS and Z/28 were upgraded trim levels. The only reason one or the other was higher before is because GM lost its way.

...2015, maybe. Z/28 needs to IMHO, or will by design..., replace ZL1... Utilize all the ZL1 technology, without the LSA...incorporate a N/A DI FI 427 CID powerplant. Voila.

I don't see the Z/28 replacing the ZL1 because GM will want something to go agains the GT500. As long as there is a supercharged Mustang, there will be a supercharged Camaro. Supercharging doesn't belong on a Z/28 and neither does the mag ride suspension.

Why does everyone keep saying that? The SS396 was faster, Which more power and more options. The only reason the Z28 was built was to meet SCCA racing standards. SCCA put a displacement restriction of 305ci. Ford and GM both did 302ci and Dodge did a 301ci (Im not positive on the dodge displacement). The Z28 package was a small displacement track car.

this here my friends, is the z/28.

The bridge between the 'base' ss and the zl1. It only makes sense to bring back the z/28. The prices of the ls7 engines are about to drop with the introduction of the new lt1. I dont see the z/28 being far off in price from the zl1 tho. $48k is my guess.
