This is pretty insane. The GT3 is only .53 second per lap faster with a professional driver. Andy Pilgrim say's it best, regarding the GT3: "Simply put, less mechanical grip and the need for more rear downforce in the GT3 equals more sliding and longer slide-recovery times, and this would be more uncomfortable for average track-day warriors. I can say it's easier for me to go fast in the Z/28, and if I owned one, I'd sure go looking for GT3s to play with at any track day. If both of these are in my garage, it would be the GT3 for the street and the Z/28 for the track, every time."

DAMN!!!

Damn.

March 24, 2014, a day that will go down in infamy!

lol!

Based on what I read off this forum for the past year, the average Camaro/Chevy guy has no idea what this means. Coming from the Porsche world, I can tell you it's...I can't find the word(s) to be honest. It's that meaningful.

How about "Off-The-F'ing-Hook Crazy Insane Nutty Wild"?

It's like the earth's rotation stopped and reversed. How about that?

Is it jaded that I'm surprised the GT3 had a faster lap? I imagine that the Z/28 is quicker than the C7 Z51 around most tracks. Very impressive car.

^ That was funny! We might have finally accumulated enough other information on the performance +- side to move the discussion beyond the taillights in the non-taillight threads.

What really got me was that the Z/28 is as fast as the Camaro GS.R from the Continental series.

Anyone want a good laugh, go check out the porsche forum discussions on this topic.... some of the excuses these guys come up with... "I expect it was difficult for Pilgrim to drive the GT3 because of the rear wheel steering and the flipped weight distribution".... LOL!!

the word "pig" is thrown around a lot. little do they know, pigs can fly now

Well, if we're talking the latest GT3, there's simply NO DOUBT that the Z/28 is nowhere near as hot as the Porsche...
