Question Is It Safe??

I was wondering since im in florida all gas station have 10% ethanol in it!! so my question is, is it safe to use lucas octane booster every time i fill up my tank?? according to my research lucas will give out 96.6 octane on a 93 octane gas!!! but the question is, is it safe to use it all the time???

The bigger question is why do you want 96 octane? Your car is tuned to run perfectly fine on 91-93. As long as your car isn't knocking, more octane will do absolutely nothing for you. Bottom line, it's a waste of $$ to increase your octane unless your car NEEDS more.

Beat me to it. Octane is (simplified explanation here) essentially nothing more than a measurement of how easily the fuel spontaneously combusts. Like already stated, you would not want to run fuel that is too low octane because you run the risk of knocking, pinging, etc. But a fuel that is too high octane will actually do nothing more than leave excessive amounts of carbon and whatever other deposits on top of your pistons because the fuel will not fully combust. The extent of this of course depending on how high octane the fuel is. I doubt 96 would be that big of an overshot, but nonetheless it will provide no real benefit either. In short, race fuel, or any other exceptionally high octane fuel can only provide you with more power if either the engine is just plain too aggressive for pump gas, or in certain cases if it would allow for more aggressive tuning.
