Til it peaks on the dyno bud!!

Just look at the monitor while dynoing, if it peaks at 68/69k or 7k that's good just stop there.

I was more concerned about the rotating assembly not being balanced as precise from the factory

It will be fine IMHO to 72/7300!

They've been doing that since the Ls1 days bud.

the rotating assembly will spin past the valvetrain limits.

A tuner should set your rev limiter. 6200 to 6900. This answer is really between you and your tuner. If you have no tuner, just go wot you'll eventually bounce off the rev limiter. Lol.

I think by virtue of this closed camaro environment, not many are aware of what one can do when they make the decision to be a man and break away from the herd. And when you decide to take the high rpm route you dont need a lot of inches...

13:1 forged pistons, oliver billet I-beam rods, forged 3.15 stroke crank, 280ish @ .050 solid roller cam, WORKED ls7 heads, shaft rockers, 2 inch headers, holley hi ram, 102+ throttle, vac pump, dry sump.

Can you hear it run? I can!

8000+ rpm and some poor bastard behind you at half track ready to pull it on the trailer and go home with his tail up his ass. HOOOAH!!!!!

WIN!

Honestly, I see no need to go over the factory rev limit on a car driven on the street. Once you do that, you're committing yourself to a good deal more money to keep it together and reliable.

These cars are fat pigs, so unless you're gonna gut it to lighten it up, build something with more stroke and place big emphasis on low speed torque. It's what gets you moving.

High rpm engines are not fun on the street and they are almost always a lazy pain in the ass down low with the required cam to make it rev.

The guy who built the 500cid ERL superdeck motor....he's smart.

The reason he's asking is cause he has titanium intake valves on the heads he purchased.

I don't recall his cam or if he change it BUT his heads will flow a lot and valve train will be light. So we'll see where his setup peaks at. The will make power down low because of the mid lift flows. Can't wait to see some of his results today.

POS I agree I love it to hear guys going a Lil against the grain in the name of powa!

Any longevity issues on the titanium valves? Do they use some kind of copper/beryllium seat to alleviate it? I've always used ferrea stainless valves.

Don't remember what lifters Shawn went with..... Shawn spec the cam out so ill be the first to run it he did say that we were going to spin the sh** out of it tho........ I was just curious to know what the max would be..... I have all the faith in Shawn to produce a monster..... As far as I know I'm the first to go this extreme on a N/A build.... Just want to see what the engine can really put out N/A, all you hear about is blown cars

You can put out HUGE power with not a whole lot of inches. The combo just has to match, and of course the low rpm performance is going to suck unless you have the gearing etc to go along with it.

You wont see a lot of that here since most want to drive their cars on the street daily, but look at what racers are doing and you will be enlightened.

It's no stretch to say you can make nascar level power if you want to.

Boosted engines are largely in favor for the low speed torque they produce, but I've seen many an n/a guy kick the crap out of boosted stuff with radical n/a combos...and it cracks me the hell up whenever I see it!
