Thoughts on value....
I had a TPW 6/9 white at one dealer...going to cancel tomorrow---
Because I found #27 not spoken for.....black Dealer told me after he called right in front of me that my car is built and will ship once quality control is finished, and then two weeks to me. So I gotta think these first 30-40 cars ....hopefully things will check out good. Anyway....you know Chevy is selling the hell out of Stingrays, and a Z51 is on constraint because they can't build enough....however I was able to put a deposit of these cars, no one else stepped up to the plate (did deal for #27 today 4/22). Am I crazy for paying 20k more for a Camaro ??? (My first car was an IROC back in) Maybe they won't build that many 2015's----I don't think 2015 has that many orders....with a deposit on them, but what do I know ? |

that's a tuffy only you can answer. However, for that coin, the C7 Z06 would be on top of my list.

So you paid 20k over MSRP? I believe you are asking about long term value, reason for cancelling the white car and going for the black car. Be prepared to hold on to it for 20 plus years. I believe these cars despite their awsome performance now will hold steady between 65k and 75k for the next few years. I see them following the way of the 2000 Cobra R in market value in the future. These are such a niche market car, those that buy it for a cool daily driver or "look at me" status mobile will soon sell because it is not practical then they will sit on show room floors because of the cost on racing comsumables. On that note, the average joe who remembers Z28 being a no compromise sports car cannot afford this car, and once they can, repairs/upkeep will still keep them from affording this car in the future. This car is not your old school 69 ZL1, or SS/RS that will command top six figures.
If your talking value as being the best Z/28 (IMHO Camaro) you can ever buy, then yes, im in the front seat of that bus fighting the driver for the wheel. |

I paid MSRP+ 600 dealer fees.
The Z51 stingray is a 57k car. Z28 is 20k more than the Stingray. |

I think the black is cool also.
C7 z07's gotta be at close to 100k--so Z28 at 76k is a bargain ! Also look at few folks are on this Z28 forum vs the ZL1 forum. Z28 is bad a$$......I'm cool with that All ready to mop the floor with C7 Z51's |

Kinda scary how great and cheap the C7 Z51 stingray is.
However I don't want one...I don't like the rear end---- I used to have a C5 Z06, an awesome car that I poured over 20k into. The way I figure the z28 is like a modded c5z06 from the factory---with everything all sorted out. |

The Z28 is like a modded C5 Z06 that I had be ause in 2005 I took my 04 Z06, and I put a different spring on, lightweight battery, headers, removed pollution controls....later put in race seats, a rear spoiler, raised rev limiter, removed Ac and radio. I made a good car a good race car........and put a lot of time and $$$$$ in.
Z28 is a better engineered solution from the factory = 76k C5 Z06 52k + 20 k. =. 72k 2005 dollars 72k > 76k today = WIN |

I always found it a bit absurd to compare a new car with a modded used one. You can mod anything to go fast, but factory delivered fast cars tend to be fully engineered by folks with resources (the factory team) to create a cohesive package.
Generally speaking once you start modding cars, you give up in other areas for the sake of speed. And the arguments become never ending. For example, I can rip the interior out of a GTR, put on Hoosiers, chip it and go faster than a stingray/z06/z28/turbo, etc. At the end of the day, buy whatever you think is cool; whatever lights your fire.
