Opinion Wanted on 12 vs 13
Got a dealer willing to sell me a 2012 Victory Red with manual trans, polished wheels, sunroof, heritage grill, gray stripe pkge, both car covers, cargo mat and net, premium floormats, wheelwell lighting kit...basically every single option other than auto...for just over 58K. What do you folks think? Go for it or hold out for the 2013?
I for one do like the touchscreen. That is the only reason in my mind to make me hesitate. Updated...this is for a ZL1 not an SS

why pay that much just to have options? You can buy the ZL1 for that, not worth IMO 12 or 13 . I personally am waiting for the 13 and buying 2ss

I am holding out for the 13, it has the new radio.

58K for that 2012 ZL1 with all those options is a good deal. There is a member here working on getting the touchscreen and parts together to get it installed in their 2012. Once done we all can add the touchscreen to our cars. Question is would you be willing to install the touchscreen yourself?
BTW, I don't like the heritage grill on the ZL1, I'd tell them to keep that thing to bring your price down more, but that's just my opinion. |

I was in the same situation, 1st at my dealer for a 13 but couldn't be promised when it would be available. I chose the 12 off the lot at a dealer 175 miles away at MSRP.
I don't care for the Heritage Grille either. But it is a dealer installed option, this means you are to get both on delivery. |

Think that's a good deal. Also by purchasing a 2012 you'd be getting one of the first few thousand built on a very low production year. Depends on how much the touch screen radio means to you, and whether you will find a 2013 that you like & has all the options you want.

Another thing to concider is that the 12 will be at least $1150 cheaper. The $600 ECF discount and the $750 price increase.

I am not a fan of the sunroof either. You need to know that the roof clearance is lower on a car with a sun roof by a notable amount (>1 inch). I would do anything to stay away from the new radio - they made an ugly radio uglier IMO. Live with the sun-roof, own a small production year - buy the 2012.

If you want the car now I say get the 2012. now if red is not your first choice, you would not buy the sunroof, etc order a 2013. I personally just did not want the sunroof. Somepoeple want it though. I think the 2013 is the way to go finacially because the car is a newer model year and you might be able to get a deal for invoice or so. but if you impatient who knows it could be like 3-5 months to get you hands on one. 58k for that car is a good price for sure. my 2013 supplier price was 56k with exposed carbon, suede package.
