Need help with adjusting Pedders XA rear height.

I'm trying to adjust the ride height to raise the rear 10mm. The passenger side went well but the driver's side won't budge when I try to unscrew the assembly from the bottom mount section. I sprayed some PB Blaster on the threads but no go. I got the lock nut loose but the shaft won't unscrew from the base. Is it OK to heat up the bottom mount of the XA to try and break it free? Any advise?

Mike,

Don't heat it. Use compressed air and more penetrating oil to get it loose. Once you get it to budge, just keep working it up and down. Is your garage heated?

The drag strip is like sniffing glue, it's cheap, it's a decent buzz, it doesn't last long and they are all the same.
Road racing is like China White Heroin, the buzz is stronger, the high lasts for hours, it's extremely addictive and they are all different.
I can't wait for my next
Track fix.

No it's not heated! I use a couple space heaters to make it tolerable out there when I'm working. Maybe I can stick a heater aimed at the threads to warm it up?

OMG

ROTFLMAO

Mike,

The first time I saw this with a return from a dealer I thought it was rusted together. There was no rust, just dirt. Use your space heater to keep the area warm and let the penetrating oil soak in. Spray it in the morning and at night.

Success! Letting the penetrating oil soak in over night last night and again today, plus letting the heater blow on it worked like a champ! Thanks for everyone's help! Pete, you're the best!
