I live 10 miles from Firebird so it does not matter.

On the same subject of gas prices, I recently came back from overseas and the price for regular gas in France was $8.00 per gallon, and for high test it was over $9.00 per gallon. While we feel like we are paying a lot, there are other countries where it is very expensive to drive anything but a Fiat 500 or Smartcar. We have it pretty good in comparison.

I will not be attending due to the distance but on the topic of gas it is a huge deal to me.
I have commuted 100 miles a day for the last 10 years. I made the decision back in november to sell my house and relocate where i work to elliminate the commute because i could see this was coming. I close on my new house in a little less than 3 weeks and it couldnt come soon enough. right now at current prices me and my wife are spending close to 600.00 a month in fuel which is insane. once we move I will be only 7 miles from my work and the wife will have to travel 15 miles one way which will be half what she used to drive. our gas bill should be 1/3 or less what it once was at maybe 200.00. if gas goes higher our savings will only increase. I fully intend to start riding my road bicycle to work when weather allows me to as well as riding my harley which gets 40mpg. the camaro will be used for rainy days as well as weekend fun. I think if gas gets to 4 and 5 bucks a gallon people will be following suit and moving closer to their jobs because the gas you spend to commute will be too high

Well I wasn't planning on going. But I will admit, If I was planning on going and gas hit $5/gal I'd cancel. Not because I technically couldn't afford it, but because I'm a cheap bastard. If oil hits $220 a barrel, get ready for a full out depression. The Saudis said that they'd increase exports w/o OPEC's consent if prices started to spike. But we should all remember that the largest portion of our imports comes from the Western hemisphere and any major price hikes are due to speculation and not lack of supply. Please note that it would appear that we actually don't even import oil from Libya, which is the latest excuse for the oil price spike.

If gas goes higher, I will change my driving habits. That means less short "road trips" which means less money I will spend on food/hotels/etc, which means less money injected into the economy, which means slower economic recovery. I spend my money responsibly and I wish the government would do the same. Go StL Cardinals.

You need to add another choice for
" it doesn't matter".

I will go no matter what the price is, you only live once and the next one will most likely be in the east. I commute 90 miles round trip to work so I will feel it a little there.

If Albert gets the 10 year money he's asking, he can help us all out.
