New Site Member/Long Time Camaro Owner
Ok, so I've been a looker/reader on the site for some time now and have picked up a lot of valuable information here on the new Camaro's. Also my complements to the folks that operate the Camaro Tracking web site. They provide a tremendous service!
So I picked up the new Camaro last week. (2SS/RS, RJT/Beige, Sunroof/Polished Wheels). And in typical car guy fashion, after I get home I wash/wax/detail her and I tuck her away in the garage, only to get into some serious car inspection. Under the hood I see a lot of white, yellow, and green crayon marks on the hoses along with a "number 2" on the front cowl area which I find very interesting. (Thought this stuff went away with the first gen Camaro's.) Also, on the left rear cylinder head I see the initials "GJ" written with what appears to be a blue sharpe marker. Now I know the car spent a day or two "On Hold at Osh" while it went through what I assume to be a QC inspection. Anyone have thoughts on the markings and initials? Perhaps some of our friends in Oshawa or St Catharines can comment. I've provided pics below. Thanks. |

V 0415 DZ, Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's and wive's here don't care....and take it easy.
oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here. Welcome!!

No matter how much I spend on error proofing on the assembly line I work on we still have to paint mark certain things going to GM. These are more then likely QC paint marks and not done by your dealer.
