will zl-1 brakes clear 18" steel wheels?

I want to know if you can run 18" steel wheels on the zl-1. It would be nice to have a set of track tires and a set of street tires. I'm saving up for the '13.

Those would have to be custom I believe. Check Weld out. Also - get over to our Wheels/Tires Section and hit up Tire Rack and Nineball. They should be able to point you in the right direction.

I've been thinking along these lines, too, but I'm worried the smaller profile of the wheels might look funny :(

I would think not, unless like Radz28 said you have them custom made due to clearance issues with the Brembo brakes.

maybe. ha ha.

Z06 has 18's but 14" rotors. the ZL-1 has 14.6" rotors. the Zr-1 and Z07 have 15.5 rotors and run 19's.

I think this rotor size is new to the ZL-1 so not sure how spooled up the wheel and tire manufaturer's are yet.

If you're looking into smaller rims ... why not go aluminum instead of steel?

Doubt it. I think they come with a can of fix-a-flat, like the SS

Yes you can run 18" wheels. Just not steel ones, or at least not any that I have seen.

I currently run a 17 inch CCW skinny on the front with the cts-v breaks and rotors. Very close, but it works :-) Not sure all is the same as the ZL1?
