Why not?

Just have straight pipes for exhuast? I have read the differences between x and h pipe, but why not just have each header go into a piece of pipe and go straight back? No x or h?

Because, well were i'm from atleast, that is a "Hick" thing and most of the time it sounds like shit. They get made fun of A LOT. ( kind of like the episode of south park "The F Word." )

To make a exhaust set-up sound just as loud or louder and actually have a "nice" sound to is much better. Not just a BLAAAAAAAAAh of noise that Straight pipe headers would sound like.

Allot of people are doing that already with Resonator and Muffler Deletes.

Sounds good too!

Can't go just perfectly straight pipe, if you look under your car you will see why.

Have seen one car that has exhaust turn downs right after the Cats. And attached the exhaust tips to the back role pan (looks stock rear exit) with nothing between them and the actual exhaust outlet...

You will lose power and it will sound like crap without something to equalize the pressure between the two banks.

The alignment from the header outlet to the stock tip location is not perfectly straight, will need some bends.

oh... snuck that one in while I was making a post...

well a... that isn't a dump... that's just dumb

and i have no clue where a "role pan" is on a camaro. if you are referring to a roll pan, that is only found on trucks?

and my dumps went straight back, just past the differential. I guess this was a really dumb idea?
