Camaro 2SS vs. Other Price Ranged Cars

I have been searching the internet and car dealerships for quite sometime and I was wondering is there really any other car that can compete against the 426 HP that the Camaro 2SS has for about the same price of 34k?

You should read all the other threads.

There's been a lot of comparisons.
370z vs Camaro
Mustang GT vs Camaro
Challenger R/T vs Camaro
G8 GT vs Camaro

I would say those are the 4 cars many guys buying Camaro's would also consider. They're all very similar in price.

The Camaro has them all beat in straight line performance. But the Camaro isn't the best at handling. That would go to the 370z. The Mustang GT (with track pack) is also a good handling car.

Not sure where you are getting your numbers from ... here is what I got from the manufacturer websites:

Challenger R/T base MSRP: $35,295 (+$1400 delivery)
Nisan 370Z base MSRP: $39,998 (+$1350 delivery)
Ford Mustang GT base MSRP: $37,499 (+$1500 delivery)
Camaro 1SS base MSRP: $37,065 (+$1350 delivery)
Pontiac G8 GT base MSRP: $37,450 (+$1350 delivery)

I love my 08 Subaru sti. I've done some minor mods to it and now putting down 350 awhp/tq. Even though I'm a huge domestic car guy, watching peoples faces how much hp my car makes out of a 4 banger is always fun. Heck my brothers 05sti puts down 500 awhp on stock block. Once the sti is paid off which will be soon, it will become a track only car and I'll pick up a camaro for a dd.

Keep in mind the exchange rate of roughly 0.85:1 lately (currently its a little more than 0.9:1). So for us to buy a 1SS in the US it would typically cost us nearly 36k vs 37 up here. Or, for you to buy one from Canda it would work out to about $31,500. So the prices aren't that different. Sometimes we win, sometimes we lose. It pretty much depends on how the dollar is doing when prices are set each year.

A while ago we were getting screwed royally when our dollar was worth 1.10 US, but car prices were based on it being worth about 0.90, lots of brokers started buying expensive cars and trucks then selling them right back to Canadians for a nominal fee (A dealer in the US cannot sell to a Canadian, I think it works the other way around too)

exchange rate lesson is over.

Incorrect numbers bother me as well so where is a base mustang $37,499?

Ford Mustang GT Coupe Base Model $27,995 + $850 destination & delivery the premium starts at $30,995

Where did you get the extra 10 thousand?

Those were Canadian prices...diff from U.S. pricing because of the exchange rate.
