Camaro vs Pre-owned C5/C6 Vette
If this has been posted before I'm sorry.
Disregard the rear seats on the camaro for a sec. What would you choose? I know I'm posting this on a camaro forum, but I still want to know what people think. |

Totally camaro. I like the look better and the heritage better. No offense to vette owners, but they don't have the same unity as camaro owners. And I know you said disregard it, but you'll need the back seat for all those chicks you'll be picking up, if you catch my drift. - Xanthos

Don't get me wrong. I LOVE the C6, and I would certainly enjoy owning a C6 Z06. But for the money, for the style, and for the spirit of the car, Camaro wins. The Corvette certainly has heritage and personality, but for me, the Camaro just has that simplicity and uncomplicated fun factor. It's just got an overall feel to it that's hard to put into words, and MUCH harder to duplicate. Yeah, I'm talking to you, Mustang and Challenger...

I've have given that exact subject a lot of thought. I do love the C-6, but even used are still around $40K. I can buy my brand new "new" Camaro, be the only one in town to own one for $30K.

I wrestled with the same thing. Either a used C6 or a new Camaro and today I put my order in for a 1SS/RS Camaro. I would rather have a new car and slightly cheaper insurance. Also, the thought of having something not a lot of others have yet is appealing.

You're asking about two very different cars. I'd take the vette...a C6. The vette guys that I know and that my dad hangs out with are a tight group and do a lot together in terms of drives, BBQ's, car shows, etc. In addition, they definitely do not fit the "snobby jerk" stereotype and are welcoming of others, regardless of the type of car they have.

Camaro. I love the Vette, but the Camaro is just right for me. Just enough room to take some buddies for a ride. Or some girls for that matter

I would choose the Camaro for one reason, ground clearance. The Corvette is simply too low for where I live.

Camaro..... although if I find a used 08 C6 z51 for around the same price I'll think twice about it.

You can get a lightly used C6 right now for about $30K all day. Personally im looking at a C6 Z06 or 2SS. You can get a C6Z for around $40-45K easily.

I was in the same boat, torn between 06-08 C6Z or 1SS. In my area, the C6Z would've been close to $50k after taxes and I wasn't prepared to pay that much for really any car, let alone a used one.
