Nice who really cares about the color combo like they said before it's a test mule maybe the tan was the only color available and they needed to get these on the streets.

I myself cannot wait to order my vert I might get both a coupe and vert at the same time

Maybe I'm just imagining it, the fence kind of obscures things.
Good eye, the top does appear to be down.

^ Yea, I never would have noticed that myself...

As already stated, these are test cars and most of the time, the factory won't even let you order that combo. Silver cars are traditionally limited to black or gray tops.

I say GM should allow ordering to begin next week. I think having the convertible would be a good thing since a lot of the Vette buyers are holding off because they like having a removable top.

Exactly what I was thinking... the color of the material is totally irelevant to the need to test the mechanics and wear and tear issue. In fact, the Tan is probably the required color (over black or blue) because the Tan will best show any rubbing/tearing/stretching issues when the top goes up and down a few thousand times (hopefully) before they know they got it right...

The engineering it takes to put a top up and down is nothing new, but being the owner of a BMW convertible, I can certainly appreciate the amount of trial and error needed to make sure fitment is properly addressed with this being a brand new car and the fact that they want these tops to last and remain water/wind tight for years of use and for a performance car, all the more important. All that said, I wanted a convertible, but the missus vetoed it because our 2000 323i is suddenly leaking and she simply isn't a fan of bright sun and wind blown hair... I drive the beemer any chance I get with the top down...

the only way i would get the convertible is if it were a hardtop... i'm super bummed that it won't be.

Hmm, i'm just not a fan of the convertible on a nice car like this, to me it ruins the design and is ugly. But I could see why some would like it.

There is no substitute for looking up at the clouds or stars with the wind in your hair and the sound of a 450HP V8 in your ears. At least for me.
+1

Until you have had a powerful vert, you don't know what you're missing.

I'm not a softtop kinda' guy, however, I think it looks really good. I'm looking past the colors, but I like the streamlined roof and the window openings. I'm not planning on getting one, however, I think they're doing a really good job.

JMHO.
