Thanks. Sounds like a great engine. Wonder how the L99 Camaro engine will be.

The camaro will need every bit of it since it is about 3 to 400 lbs heavier then the vette and about 600 lbs heavier then a 2003 ZO6.My 2003 ZO6 got 30mpg in high gear crusing at 55mpg.Just on another note I walked all over a charger SRT8 which also is a 3800lb+ car like the new SS camaro.

LS3 Coupe weighs 3217.
C5Z weighs 3118.

LS3 Camaro weighs 3860. That's 6xx over the C6 and 7xx over the C5Z.

And FYI, Charger SRT8 weighs 4160. You had half a ton and a stick over him.

I don't care what happens or how much power it has, it will be fun and I will upgrade it anyway.

You make my point with EXACT numbers. All this aside the Camaro still is a sweet looking car.Just would be nice ,if GM stays alive, they concentrate on making it lighter for future model years.

The LS3 in the C6 is a hall of a motor. The upcoming camaro with both the LS3 and the L99 is going to kick some serious @ss.

It's not that bad.
And I hope your Z06 would be faster than it!!!
(But only be a couple tenths in the quarter.)

ROFL. GMHTP ran an 04 Z to 11.9 at Englishtown bone stock on factory street tires. It's been repeated by others. Ain't no bone stock Camaro on 275/30/20 street tires running anywhere near 12.1/12.2.

Well the Z06 is nice but I am a sucker for new toys even if it is not as quick. After a while no car is ever fast enough, thats why we all like to play with them and make them quicker and different.By the way my Z is gone now and I have a 71 formula which way slower in comparison........to the Z......but the camaro should be quicker....you think.

I read a 12.4 quarter for the 2003 Z06. The Camaro should get within a few tenths of that. Hence my statement. But otherwise; I'll concede the point to you. I'm definitely not trying to put down the C5 Zs.

Yeah...but the corvette...is the vette...its the only step above the camaro...if they made the camaro as light as the vette...why not buy camaro...yes i know they detuned the LS3 to not compete with the Vette installed LS3...but it wasnt needed because of the wieght difference.

Anyways...the price range that the camaro competes in....it beats em all...will even run the GT500.

The GT500 was overrated at 500 bHP...it was really pumpin out 400 bhp...search top gear gt500.

Silly ford....overrating thier engines...supposed to be the other way around.

ugh, the gt500 is 500bhp, it was like 430Whp. I think that's like the oo'th time someones misunderstood that.
