Rally Yellow SS

Check this out.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chevr...ht_1158wt_1206

If you look, dealership says "one of eight" yellow SS's with a manual right now.. That can't be real, right? I'm thinkin it's just something they're saying to justify selling this $33k car for $40k and change.

what do yall think

This is just a flat out lie. Hopefully someone from GM can slap this dealer like FBodFather did that other one.

Geez, folks, individual dealers are free to sell their inventory for whatever price they can. This has been beaten to death on this board several times.

I know it isn't something which most of us like. But it is reality. If someone wants to pay that much over sticker that is their business.

I for one would never go that route. When I made my decision to buy, I sought out a dealer that wouldn't jerk me around on price. No markup over sticker.

I hate to be a crepe hanger, but, isn't it about time this horse be sent to the glue factory. It is dead, it is starting to get old and it boils down to what any given individual is willing to pay for a given vehicle.

Having said that, I would be happy to sell mine before I take it home for $7,000 over sticker. (I have every right to do that should I choose to.)

Greenrail is right on the mark with this one!!!! If you have something in your closet that you want to sell for say $200.00 but you know it is only worth $150.00 does that make you wrong if you have a buyer for $200.00? I say no because it is up to the buyer to walk away if he is not happy with the deal.

if you look at the bids, the dealer started the auction at 34k, its the bidders driving the price to 40k

Yes, that is correct. They have the right to sell the vehicle for whatever they can get for it.

Consider this, if you wanted that particular vehicle so bad, and you had no limit as to what you would spend for it, and nothing else was holdingyou back, you would have the right to purchase it at whatever price you want to pay for it.

That' s how it works. Who ever the winning bidder was decided that they would pay whatever price they wanted for the car they wanted.

Whether we like it or not, that is what can and does happen.

The problem isnt the price the dealer sold it for but the misrepresentation used to advertise the item. The item was advertised as 1 of 8 in the USA. This was a out right lie.

Shame on:
Tom Peden Chevrolet Pontiac Buick
475 Church St S

For advertising this car this way.

BTW b4 anyone asked how I know who it was. I just looked up the dealerships in Ripley,WV and crossed the phone number given for the contact.

CAVEAT EMPTOR

They were probably basing that claim on the VIN list seen online and promoted frequently here on Camaro5.

Many people tend to lean towards hyperbole when making advertising claims.

I hear ya, but ebay strictly prohibits false advertising. This was a blatant attempt to drive the price of his item up and to make it appear unique.
Again shame on :
Tom Peden Chevrolet Pontiac Buick
475 Church St S
Ripley, WV , 25271

Karma will take care of them.

you are absolutely correct sir and I totally agree with you. I just pointed that out because it seemed like people were blaming the dealer for the 40k price on that one particular auction on Ebay thats all
