Could you do me a favour?

Could you record the sound with the camera from the inside of your car with the windows closed?

I would consider doing a mod like this but I really love how quiet the Camaro is on the inside and would hate to give that up.

ah yes, sorry. Well I have a standard, so I can't say if this would change anything or not.

Yes, I'll do it this evening. I really want to get a video inside with the camera on the tach, but I'm not going to hold it and I don't have any kind of mount. I'll just get a friend to ride with me, maybe in the back behind the passenger and see how that works. I'll try to get all kinds of situations: cruising in 6th, accelerating, windows up, windows down, music on, etc.

I like and am pondering right now

I was waiting for someone to run up and grab the camera off the pavement while you took off.

DON'T DO IT on a V6....search the threads. Someone already tried on the V6 a while back an it sounded horrible. Even the OP that did it basically said he regretted it. Save your $$$ and buy an SLP, MagnaFlow, Borla, or something similar.

I don't know if they are making the SLP for the V6 yet but on the V8 you can buy the LoudMouth II for about $560. To cut off your muffleres and weld in new pipes it's going to cost you anywhere between $200 - $300. Save a little more and change the sound with mufflers on the V6.

Don't you lose power by switching over to straight pipes?

I heard that the engine works better and makes more power when it has the backpressure of the mufflers. Can somebody confirm this?

I can't guarantee anything, but here's a link to a dyno a fellow member did with straight pipes...shows a significant gain.

Thanks again to you all. I'm working on the In-car video and should have it up tonight.
