So you choose to ignore the owners manual you paid for in the glove box?

The people that engineered your engine would really know what's best for it, wouldn't they?

Just my opinion........

I would say stay with the same weights. I have moved to Pennzoil Platinum which is getting great Blackstone test results in Camaros and many other performance cars.

Blackstone Labs is probably what Scott meant.

Dont you mean the people that paid the most money and met the epa standards for fuel economy and emissions..........uuuuh, know whats best for your car??
Seriously, guys n gals, you need to get over this "it must be best because its on the oil fill cap" crap. Yes, mobil 1 is fairly decent stuff, for the daily driven under 3500 rpm car. But there is so many other quality oils out there.......even dino.
OP, yes 5w40 will be fine in your car. Actually, the heavier wt oils usually have higher zinc and phosphorus levels which is good for the engine.
Oil is mostly preference....most of the brands you can buy at the local parts store will do just fine. The key is changing you oil and filter regularly.
