Blue Ray Metallic 2LS pricing help
I have been looking for a BRM 2LS and finally found one at a local dealer. The MRSP was $26142 and talking to the salesman it was immediately 23485 out the door with a $1000 cash back. Now on the sticker there was an additional charge of around 900 for a Xylonic paint protection package included in the MRSP? Can anyone explain this charge? I am thinking I should try and get them down to $22000-22500 does this sound reasonable? Ideally I want to ask how close to 21500 they would come to and see the invoice.
I am 23 and this is my first car purchase as I don't want to be taken advantage of. Thank y'all for a wonderful site and all it useful information! Michael |

It would be in addition to the MSRP (ie: added to). It's an item that the dealer added/had installed after taking delivery, it's not a GM item. How low a price you can get will vary dealer to dealer and add on items such as that would be in addition to the price of the car.

I would demand that they show me exactly what that paint protection system is. I am thinking it is probably pure profit for the dealer. Xylonic acid is highly soluble in water. If that is what they are using, it will wash off at the first sign of rain.

The secondary sticker is called a "sucker" sticker. If you fall for it, you're a sucker.
Seriously, I bought a 2LS BRM a month ago with an MSRP of around $25595, and with all things done and considered, including a 1000 Private Offer and a trade in effecting sales tax , I was at $22200 out the door. Get a $1000 private offer certificate if you can, and you will probably have sales tax to deal with. Hit em at $21500 and see what rolls back. You might do better than me. And whatever you do, don't negate the rebate for some phony paint protection BS. Refuse to pay it or move on. If you have to, do a search online and see who has a BRM 2LS yourself and go buy it like I did. This guy is one state over, and is sitting on 3 of them- http://graydanielschevy.com/Jackson-...w/?ModelId=880 And here's a national search if you get bored....... http://www.cars.com/for-sale/new/201...02&clrId=27124 Last edited by LStick; 06-01-2013 at 12:09 AM. |

Thanks guys, the package is Xzlion paint protection I did a little Google fu and found its a gimmick and has to be reapplied every 6 months to work as advertised. I'm going to go in tomorrow morning I think and throw a 21000 offer (before incentives) and tell them I don't want the paint protection. Ill see what happens, also how does one go about getting the private offers? I've heard of them but never really understood where they came from.
