Unhappy I gotta say...

whats up guys.. im new to this forum, ive been on cz28.com for a few years

the thing thats really bothering me about the new camaro is almost EVERY single local dealer, ebay, private sellers, etcetc.. everyone is selling LTs for more than SS's are worth! 2SS camaros are going for 42-45grand almost everywhere I look!!

Thats GT500 territory, and with that you get a forged motor and another 120hp... First off let me say I am a DIE HARD carmaro enthusiast and Id take a camaro over almost anything any day of the week.. Im just saying I feel like this is going to shy away alot of potential buyers into getting other cars

thoughts??

If someone is seriously looking to buy a Camaro they will go to a dealer that will sell at MSRP!!! There are many of those out there.

I never sell over MSRP!
I do believe the Camaro is worth every penny, but never over MSRP!

every dealer i've talked to in my area (i've only talked to 4 but still LOL) has agreed to MSRP and GMS! i'd have it made if they would just agree to give me how much i want for my trade! HA!

but you're right, all the research i've done has shown me a lot of camaros for WAY above MSRP.

Research and perseverance pay off big time on this. I tried 20+ dealers before I could find one to do GMS pricing. And he came to me.

unfortunately MSRP is just that, Manufacturers SUGGESTED retail price. The same could be said for a box of Cheerios, hit up an ACME and it could be 1.99 go to the SafeWay down the street and it could be 2.99. It is Suggested. Do I think it is right? no way in hell but the dealers are going to do it if they feel some people will buy the cars for that price. Unfortunately some people are willing to pay 5K or more over for the car they want when they want it right now instead of waiting

Don't lose hope! Check the "good dealers" thread as well as the classified section. You may have to hunt a bit, and wait for a few months, but you should be able to get a car at MSRP or lower with no problem!

if you buy a gt500 after all is said and done you have most likely spent over 50k.

a fully loaded camaro with wheels and ground fx car will be about 42-44k. a top trim model plus a 5000 markup is also the same. i think we have 199 dealers listed at msrp in this subforum...almost everyone on camaro5 has gone through your same thought process at one point or another, yet most of us have paid msrp or less. you have to do the legwork. good luck

If in Jersey call Dave @ Wigder, definitely selling all cars at msrp. I would also call Tony at Malouf, I order @ msrp, hope to get soon, so can't tell you if any games will get played, but so far so good.

If your willing to travel a bit, there was a RJT in Ct for sale. Go the regional site or the auto's for sale thread in Classified

hey guys thanks for the input... I myself have already picked out a dealer (wigder) haha thanks boozer,... im just saying for other people that dont know about this site, I went to global auto mall in greenbrook nj a few weeks ago and the salesman was trying to talk this lady and her husband into buying a black 1ss for 46,43xx.. I politely intervened and asked why such a high price and he said "gm regulates our prices because theyre out of business we have no control over the price" I was like ok well why are theyre 200 dealerships selling for MSRP?? anyway I told the lady to leave and go to wigder and the salesman he was a disgrace to gm hahah I hate when they try taking advantage of people!

thats not just gt500 territory that's vette territory. And basically, you are only paying a premium on the hotness of the car right now. Which will definately go away, as time wears on.

MSRP and honoring GM discounts is the ONLY way to roll!
