You can get AFM tuned out by a tuner. What kind of issues are you having exactly?

Or you can disable it with a Range module and not hurt your warranty.

I'd wager that most average consumers of SS auto Camaros are not aware that their vehicle came with this cylinder deactivation feature. I'd add to that , most sales people are not either.

I know I'm the exception here on camaro5 but In 5 years it's never bothered me.
Can't even tell it's there even with my Solo exhaust.

I have flow master mufflers and I can hear it all the time and sometimes the response doesn't seem quick enough, some people say you shouldn't even hear the difference

After reading many other posts I got around the AFM. 2 ways.

1. Shift to manual, paddleshift to first then second then thrid, but is denied, then shift back to 1. Now I'm running all 8 till I shift back to auto.

When I'm on highway I'm running auto and utilizing the AFM. Before I hit the exit ramp this is what I do to get it back to run all 8.

2. Shift out of auto to manual. Paddle shift from S to 6 then to 5 then back to 6. Giving about 2 seconds in between to allow shift to complete. Now I'm in all 8.

Any questions please pm me.

I purchased a range so no need now.

Using paddle shift does not necessarily disable AFM.

In my 2010, you have to do a downshift to accomplish that. Not that it bothers me. Step on it and the engine immediately goes to 8 cylinder mode.

What I've found is most people don't realize it or it doesn't bother them until they change their exhaust. Then its really noticeable when the exhaust drones and they come see me to have it calibrated out.

I bought a Range device to tune out the AFM and it was one of the best mods I've done so far. It was so easy and I love the way the car runs and sounds now. No more AFM!!!!

I'm wondering why your car would sound different by disabling the AFM. Did you have an aftermarket exhaust on it before disabling?

Yep. When I was stock exhaust it didn't bother me so much. Since I added headers, no tune yet, its annoying as hell when AFM kicks in and out. Doing cam swap soon so I will get my tune done then.
